Since April 2012, King County residents and hundreds of organizations have been speaking out against the County’s plans to spend more than $210 million on a new youth jail and family court buildings.
No New Youth Jail is a movement comprised of teachers, artists, young people, public health workers, researchers, nurses, families and more to stop King County and the city of Seattle from building a new juvenile jail facility and demand investment in human needs, not more cages.
I created this logo as a way to bring attention to the cause as if it were a large scale marketing or brand campaign. The No New Youth Jail organizers used the slogan on t-shirts, stickers, buttons and protest signs to spread the message and demand alternatives to incarceration towards restorative justice.
